Ground Shaking Welcome!

This is proof that everything did fit in the trailer, and made it with few scratches. Koodos to my dad for doing an amazing packing job. Luckily my apartment is just beyond the curb and on the first floor. The move-in went significantly quicker than my prior move to a 3rd floor apt. My dad did a great job getting the furniture in a 6 X 12 trailer, but once the furniture was in the apartment it became quite tricky to get everything to fit in a 550 sq. foot apartment. The real work was about to begin.

My mom and I decided to work on putting the dishes away while my dad was working on another project. All of a sudden I felt something and heard something. Was that my neighbor falling above me? No wait, the ground below me moved too. Holy cow I could hear the entire builiding shifting... what on earth! AHHHH EARTHQUAKE! Are you kidding me?!? It felt like I was standing on a water bed. We all looked at each other and asked what do we do? By the time we thought about it, it was over. I survived my first earthquake. My mom did ask if I wanted her to stop unpacking the boxes. We continued to unpack. No worries, there was no damage, and my parents can rest easy after surviving it with me. Well, welcome to California.

After unloading the trailer it was time to return it. The closest place was at a gift shop. This is not a cute gift shop you would buy your mom or grandma a momento from. The was a gift shop you would buy a lonely or perverted man a gift, or someone who needed life be a little happier. I thought I had stepped directly in the 70s. Dude this was a totally cool place that I would like never go to again. Well, welcome to California.

I have to admit that I find it quite amusing that you experienced your first earthquake on your first day living in CA!!! Hope things are going well for you...we're going to miss you on game nights here in KS!!!
